The Challenge

Our Business Unit Export is responsible for the worldwide sales and marketing of our brands. We believe that strong local partnerships are key to building long-term, sustainable brands. Achieving this is a joint effort of our sales and marketing colleagues operating worldwide.

Recently, we opened our new sales office in Japan. To expand the future growth of our brands in this market, we are looking for a Trade Marketer. In this role, you have the responsibility to build our brands in the Japanese market, by increasing the brand's presence in stores and the minds of our target consumers. Deploy your expertise in local below-the-line activities according to the brand strategies. Be the expert in trial and awareness generation via point of sales visibility, promotion and activation in both on and off-trade with a focus on Bavaria 0.0 and our specialty brands. You work in close cooperation with the local team and distribution partner with a functional lead and mentoring role to the marketing export team. 

What are you going to do? 

• As a Trade Marketer you understand the local consumers, customers, and competitors, and the role the category and the brand could play in Japan. Undertake initiatives and actions alongside sales leads and in-market partner staff to increase the penetration of the brand in the local market.
• You feed the central marketing team with relevant observations and insights from your markets
• You lead brand visibility programs and assure optimal in-store impact. You deploy activations and experiences that work to increase the trial of our brands as well as the value of our brands (BTL and POS) and you are the first point of contact for our local agencies
• You will be the Community Lead for the local online platforms
• You lead the execution of brand plans in trade channels, including e-commerce.
• You will lead, train, and mentor local brand staff teams.
• You coordinate the marketing budget and spending, training initiatives, and the sales/brand kits
• You will frequently travel in the country to neighbouring cities and regions; occasionally you visit the headquarter in Lieshout – The Netherlands

Who are you? 

• You are living in Japan
• You have a Bachelor's degree, and at least 5 years’ experience in the FMCG market. (preferably alcoholic, non-alcoholic, or CSD products)
• Your core expertise is marketing, you believe that brands build businesses; sales experience is an additional value.
• You have knowledge of the Japanese market and oversight capabilities within the market.
• Furthermore, you are a proven relationship builder with a track record in value growth through brands. You can influence people through open and factual communication.
• You have advanced knowledge of MS Office and Adobe (Illustrator and InDesign)
• You are fluent in Japanese and English
